Flutes in Faith — Sacred Music for Flute

Flutes in Faith is a growing collection of sacred music for flute, created for musicians playing in churches, services and other worship settings. The collection brings together beautiful and practical repertoire for solo flute or flute duo with piano or organ, with many arrangements also suitable for violin and other C instruments.

The music ranges from new arrangements of sacred works by composers including Bach, Handel, Mendelssohn, Mozart and Purcell to music for reflection, celebration and the Christian year.

Arranged by highly experienced church musicians from the cathedral tradition, the repertoire is ideal for regular worship, weddings and funerals, Christmas and Advent, and Lent and Easter, as well as for quiet reflection and contemplation. The collection continues to expand with hymn arrangements and further seasonal repertoire being added.

Flute and organ music for sacred settings

Our arrangements are designed to work equally well in a service or as short concert pieces, giving flautists repertoire that is musically rewarding while remaining practical for the occasions at which church musicians are most often asked to play.

All Flutes in Faith collections also include downloadable piano accompaniment tracks, recorded by pianist John Alley. These allow flautists to perform in situations when a live accompanist is not available, and are also useful for rehearsal and preparation before playing with an organist or pianist.

The Flutes in Faith collections include arrangements of some of the best-loved classical sacred repertoire for flute, including Bach’s Erbarme dich from the St Matthew Passion, Mozart’s Laudate Dominum and Fauré’s Pie Jesu. Bach’s Largo Arioso offers another beautiful choice for services, reflection or concert performance.
