DIVERTISSEMENT OP. 91 FOR TWO FLUTES AND ALTO FLUTE by CHARLES KOECHLIN
This trio for flutes and alto flute was composed around 1924, and first performed in 1937 by Marcel Moyse and colleagues in Paris. The work displays Koechlin’s understanding of the expressive and technical capabilities of the flute, with flowing melodic lines and a brilliant finale. The original parts, however, were riddled with errors, so the piece was rarely performed.
This edition presents for the first time a comprehensively revised and edited full score of the trio for two flutes and alto flute with individual performance parts included in digital package.
In three movements:
- 1. Très calme
