J.S. BACH SIX ARIAS FROM THE CANTATAS
arr. and ed. Elisabeth Parry and John Alley
Six Bach cantata arias for flute, drawn from some of J.S. Bach’s most beautiful obbligato writing and arranged for two flutes and piano. These sacred works are ideal for worship and church services as well as concert and recital performance.
The collection includes music from six Bach cantatas, with the original vocal line incorporated into the arrangement for the second flute. Carefully edited with historically appropriate articulation, dynamics and cadential trills, the arrangements give flautists an opportunity to explore Bach’s cantata repertoire both as performance music and as preparation for playing the original obbligato parts.
